Saint Cyprien Golf & Resort
Since 1976, the 27 hole golf course at Saint-Cyprien is open to everyone. The championship course “Etang-Canigou” hosted, for more than 10 years, the qualification rounds for the general European circuit of the PGA.
Depending on weather conditions, you will be able to play every golf shot in the book while contemplating the natural environment of this magnificent links course built along the lake, at the foot of majestic mount Canigou.
The course “The Forest” will allow you to discover a beautiful pine forest with a very technical course.
The courses
Located in the heart of an ornithological reserve and facing the majestic Mount Canigou, the Saint Cyprien Golf & Resort is spread out on 200 hectares between the sea and the lake. It was recognized ‘Golf Course of the Month’ by Golf Magazine and Golf Européen in 2005 and 2006.
Very much appreciated by its visitors and members, the Saint Cyprien Golf and Resort knows how to accommodate everyone. The courses are well balanced and alternate subtly the technical holes with those where you can have a breather.
Infinitely flat, punctuated here and there by trees and reeds, the 18 holes Links course ‘Etang-Canigou’ par 73 of a total length of 6475 meters is a real golfing challenge and those who believe that the only difficulty of this course is the wind are far from reality. In addition to its length, the greens accessible by pitch and run are strongly raised and a negligible outgrowth prevents the ball to get to its ends obliging the player to execute a small pitch, a key move to score at Saint Cyprien.
The site’s natural fauna; squirrels, rodents and a multitude of colourful birds parade around your balls enhancing the feeling of tranquility.
Thus, hole number 6 a par 3 of 175 meters, signature hole of the Saint Cyprien golf course, spreads all the way to the side of the Lake of Canet and the pink flamingoes have the best seats to observe you. To be noted that from this hole, depending on the wind, the men’s 1st series will tell you that they can play from an 9 iron to a driver.
The 9 holes of the course ‘La Foret’, a par 35 of a length of 2963 meters, are articulated around a wood where the smell of pines, bohemian olive trees, plane trees and eucalyptus will impassion you.
