That’s a really tough one! Both are pretty similar as far as quality, and they are about 100 feet apart, so location is virtually the same! I would say that rooms are slightly bigger at the Sorbonne and it was renovated quite recently. Bottom line, you can’t go wrong with either!
Just returned from a week at Hotel La Sorbonne. Above post was correct in that the two hotels are nearly beside each other. The La Sorbonne has typical French small rooms, but it was spotlessly clean, very quiet and the desk people were exceptionally helpful. One offered to confirm shuttle reservations (we usually take the RER) but I managed to do it myself. The bathrooms are small . . . again typically French. They are clean and serviceable and do have a working hair dryer. There is someone at the desk 24 hours a day and that is very helpful. There are phones in the rooms with an outside line, also useful.
We haven’t stayed at the other hotel, but expect the amenities are somewhat similar so you might want to choose by price. You will be within walking distance of 3 Metro stations, 2 RER stations and a lot of tourist sites. There are plenty of good (and bad) restaurants nearby; bookstores abound and there’s decent shopping also.
Whichever hotel you choose, you’ll probably be happy with it. I hope you enjoy your trip.

Either one is a nice hotel. There are some other nice ones in the 5er area but they can get expensive. When are you going?
