From the very beginning, water has played a central role in the building of the castle and gardens of Versailles. As you prepare your trip to visit the Sun King’s royal residence, don’t forget to include some time to see the musical water shows and witness the numerous fountains create a new landscape when jets of water rise and fall to classical music.
Running from March, 29 to October, 27, 2013, these events run on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to noon and from 3:30 pm to 5 pm + final Music plays from 10 am to 6:30pm.
On Tuesdays Water plays are from 11 am to noon and from 2:30 pm to 4 pm Music plays from 10 am to 6:30pm
Of all the jewels the history of France has bequeathed to the world’s artistic heritage, Versailles is the most intimately linked to a king’s ambition, and you can partake in it for a day.
The water shows are an optional addition to most scheduled tours to Versailles
