We truly enjoyed our stay at the Negresco. The location is unbelievable, the rooms at beautiful and the service is very good.

In my opinion the decor of this hotel, specially the main salon (where they have that awful fat dancing lady and acrilic tables in the middle of beautiful chairs) and room 325, are "a monument to bad taste". Will never go back.

One flaw: No water, hot or cold, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. It was apparently because of needed repairs, but the only warning was a tiny note on top of the TV. No one said anything either at the reception desk or when they showed me the room, which would have been preferable. Still, a wonderful place.

The hotel is incredible to look at, however the service on the private beach was appalling, I have never been so rudely treated in my life, the food was terrible and even having reserved two sun loungers through the concierge, we were bluntly informed that the beach was full. I think that when staying in a 5 star hotel and paying vety high rates it is bad enough that you have to pay to use their beach, but to then be treated with such rudeness and arrogance was completely unnacceptable.

The Negresco, although well located and well known, was overpriced. We paid for a room with a water view and got a room on the second floor that had about one inch of water view. The bathroom smelled mildewy. I would not stay at the Negresco again. The reservation service was excellent though and I would definitely use it again.

our first stay was excellent. Our second stay superior! The hotel was a delight, the service wonderful. A room with a view was worth a million dollars!

I actually checked out oft the Negresco after the first two days. I spent two nights without much sleep. I heard banging sounds at 2:30 a.m. and other noises. The bathroom was not cleaned well. Hair {not mine} was in the tub and on the floor and the bath drain did not close completely. Then to top it off the room had old materials in it and surrounding the bed that were gray with dust and caused me to have an allergic reaction. When I told the management why I was checking out they asked if I would like a seaview room instead. I believe it would have been complimentary. By that point I had had enough and didn't care much about saving money. After a few private conferences they took off 50% of one night's stay. That I thought was tacky. I moved myself to a hotel down the street that had very clean rooms {smaller but attractive and modern} for less money. At that point I was willing to pay anything for a good room on the promenade. At the last moment they are hard to get. Anyway, I would not recommend the Negresco to anyone as I think it has seen better days. I would return to the West End or Meterlinck.

The stay was wonderful and the hotel was evertything we expected; the staff especially was wonderful, the concierge most helpful. All in all, way above average in overall service. Some of the rooms and hallways are in some need of refurbishment and updating; however ours was fine. Overall ambience was great, especially the old bar and "Poussy" the cat.
