Dear Sirs, regarding all ratings we thought that teh hotel was a bit too expensive. The design of the hotel was obviously made in the end of the seventies and have not been redeveloped during time beeing. Beneath some exceptions it was clean. If you are able to get a room with a view to the port it would be quite different. The service is good. Best regards

The location is magnificently central in this very attractive and historic city. Initial doubts about the possible level of room noise were quickly quashed with the realisation most rooms seem to open on a central courtyard, or a leafy green rear garden. The rooms were not large, but they and their en-suite facilities were well-fitted, entirely comfortable, and totally satisfactory. The actual building was charming and historic. We did not eat at the hotel. Our two-night stay was too short for us to resist the temptations of the huge range of restaurants and cafes within a few minutes walk from the front door of our hotel.

We thought La Monnaie perfectly situated; only 5 minutes walk from the bustle of the harbour-front restaurants and shops, yet far enough away to be a quiet haven after a long day of travelling. The public area is very pleasantly designed, and the staff attentive and helpful. There is also a very secure underground car park protected by electronically operated gates. You are, however, paying for the location so the rooms, though clean and nicely arranged around a lovely internal courtyard, are a little basic and in need of updating. If you are staying more than a day or so, you might want something with more creature comforts. Overall, though we thought this was a good quality hotel that we would use again if stopping off in La Rochelle.

We stayed at the La Monnaie in La Rochelle the 21st of July this year. La Rochelle is a beautiful town and La Monnaie is a little charming hotel situated along the harbour. The room was nice and clean with a bathtub. We stayed in a regular double. The air condition did not work very well (or at all). The service was excellent and the staff was very helpful. I would recommend the breakfast - it was delicious!

We very much enjoyed our stay at La Monnaia and would definitely stay there again. I do however feel that we should not have had to pay for the car parking every night. That should have been free.

an excellent, friendly hotel every request was met with a smile, patience with our french and a result! Well located in La Rochelle to see the sights and access all the delicious restaurants quite easily

ideal for exploring La Rochelle breakfast in room setup not what we prefer, but there are many small cafes in the area where one can get breakfast at a very reasonable price would definitely recommend La Monnaie

The location was perfect, a short stroll to the port. Great restaurants nearby. A wonderful Stay.
