I liked the hotel, the room and the location, the staff was friendly and the room small, but cosy.

I loved Paris. Your country is so beautiful. I do have a complaint
regarding the hotel. I was told that they had adapters. I asked this
questions twice and got a very specific response from the hotel. I
still have the response on my e-mail from the hotel which can be
forwarded to you. Anyway, once we arrived, the hotel did not have an
adapter. They were very rude about it.
We had to spend one half of a day dealing with it looking for one. I
think the hotel should have made arrangements to get us one as they
would know where to get it and they should have paid for it. We could
have brought one with us. Instead, my mother ended up paying 40 euros
for one and we had to shop around to find one.
The front desk person also lied to us as she said she could not leave to
get one for us because she was by herself. When we left the hotel,
there were two people at the front desk. She just did not want to take
the time to get one. I am not sure who she was and I do not believe
that she was the owner of the hotel.
I thought it was very unprofessional. I believe they should have stood
by their word which was that they had an adapter for us.
Thank you very much,
Cynthia Grimm

Excellent location in Le Marais. Rihad (mgr) was very nice, and extremely helpful. He was also quite willing to deal with my intermediate French, and speak English to discuss more minute details! Super covenient to the St. Paul métro station. We will be in Paris again in July, and will stay there again!

The room was somewhat small. The bathroom was updated and very good as was the staff who were helpful. A room on the ground floor was noisy but on a return one week later another room on the 2nd floor was quieter.

I loved staying in Le Marais; within walking distance of Notre Dame, yet a bit apart from the primary tourist beat, a real neighborhood. The hotel was very well located, with a cordial staff and good breakfast. The room was comfortable . There was some street noise when the window was open, but it wasn't too bad. They are in the process of installing air conditioning, which should help. I would definitley stay there again.

This property is in a great location, the Marias district is probably one of the finest to stay while in Paris. The hotel was clean and they had internet access in the hotel which was very convenient (we would stay in contact with friends who we're travelling at the same time we were via Hotmail). All in all, a very nice stay. One caveat though, the hotel in located across the street from a fire station. If it's a busy night for them and your room is facing the street, it could get a little noisy.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment upon our stay at the St. Paul le Marais. The hotel is in a very exciting and charming part of the Marais, with many cafe, shops, restaurants, and within walking distance of some of Paris' most spectacular museums and sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful and allowed me to speak my execrable French. The lobby was pleasant if not particularly stylish or charming. The decor of the rooms was a bit drab but the bathrooms were excellent with modern conveniences and plenty of hot water. We would have considered our stay at the St. Paul le Marais to have been acceptable except that the noise from the street was horrendous. Others have commented that rooms on the courtyard would have been quieter but the difference would have been between way-too-loud versus incredibly-way-too-loud. Closing the (double pane) windows helped only a little and was not a option considering the absence of air-conditioning and the heat of Paris in late June. We checked out two days early and found a thoroughly charming three-star hotel in the 6th a block from le Jardin de Luxembourg and two blocks from restaurants such as Le Dome and La Coupole. For 30 euro more per night, the lobby was large and charming, the rooms beautifully decorated and air-conditioned, and best of all, blessedly quiet. Hotel St. Paul le Marais is in a fabulous part of the city and would be quite acceptable in other seasons when the windows can be kept closed. Compared to other hotels we tried to, and eventually successfully, checked into, it is not a bargain.

We were very comfortable at St. Paul Le Marais. The staff although quite busy were very helpful. When it came time to leave we were sadly reluctant.

The hotel is charming and in an ideal location. The staff is welcoming and eager to please, though not always efficient. Our beautifully remodelled bathroom had double sinks, a tub & shower and a separate 'watercloset'. An unfortunate overhead pipe leak, however, left us with a flooded bathroom and many inconveniences. In spite of the few difficulties, I would consider returning.

I was very pleased with Saint Paul le Marais. It was close to everything and the staff was very nice and helpful. I would defiantly suggest this hotel to anyone visiting Paris and would stay there again myself when I get the chance. Thanks for making my vacation so memorable.

Great location in the Marais. I opted for a de luxe room to ensure more space - it still wasn't a very large room but fine for a couple of nights. Things were only let down by the slightly scruffy bathroom - peeling paint and no wall mounting for the showerhead. Otherwise, I would definitely use the hotel again.

The hotel was in an excellent location for the traditional sites and for a taste of Parisian life - only 5 mins walk over the Seine to Notre Dame etc and a host of local restaurants. The webb site was excellent for giving a first timer to Paris a clue as what to expect and what suits your needs. If your'e a light sleeper you'll need the windows closed at night - unless you like to hear refuse collection at 2am. Our double room was small but adequate & clean and was the cheaper of those on offer. Most of the staff were friendly (and all polite) & thankfully spoke English. I'm sure its true of any big city - beware of pick pockets! We learnt a little too late on the Metro near Eiffel. It didn't spoil a good weekend.

Room was smaller than expected for the price, breakfast was very good for the price, room faced the street..noisy at times but acceptable, location very good... close proximity to subway and shops. Room was cleaned each day. Staff assistance was prompt and helpful. French Reservation Centre provided excellent service. First time I used the service.

I would highly recommend the location. Central with easy access to underground, dining, and local sites. Hotel was clean and staff friendly. Matresses were very worn so I wouldn't recommend for those with back trouble. A good stay.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay. It was the week-end of the music festival and even though we were tired from our plane ride, we got up and enjoyed the music and the crowd in the streets. Great music except for the loud Havana club music. By the way, anyone there who knows the name of the French song that was sung over and over again that sounded like "Je ne c'est pa, Je ne c'est pa, C'est Pari non Monmarte"? I searched in Paris and the south of France to no avail. Perhaps my hearing or my French is poor. It was a beautiful song. Thanks for the good time. Charles & Carol Fitzgerald

We were disappointed that the rooms were not air conditioned (although the lobby was). The room was small but clean. The breakfast was very nice, more than I expected from a "continental" breakfast.

I'm afraid to have to report to you that the hotel St. Paul was far below our expectations and requirements even taking into account the cramped nature of the Le Marais district. The hotel was dirty, the corridors too small for two people to pass one another. The room was extremely small and cramped with next to no cupboard space and the bed, or at least the mattress, was so old that we woke each morning feeling as if we had broken our backs. I was happy only that the local fire station is situated across the street because in my view the hotel is a dangerous fire trap. We would never consider using this facility again under any circumstances and I am wondering how such a place was awarded 3 stars and by whom.

The St. Paul le Marais was what I expected it to be--a comfortable hotel with an accomodating staff in one of the best locations in the fourth. Room decor is a bit vanilla but the beds are good and and the only times one should see the decor is upon rising in the morning and going to bed at night. The rest of the time the decor bores itself while one delights in the exterior decor that is Paris. I will return to the St. Paul. It is a solid value.

the bathroom and jacuzzi tub was excellent. the bedroom could use one comfortable chair. thankyou. also we think we left(in a drawer - rm 416) 3 souveniers - 2 paris kiosks and a little ceramic street scene - if they could be mailed, thank you

We stayed in room 416 which was amazing. It had a little loft with a writing desk, and a LARGE jacuzzi tub! Friendly front-desk staff was very helpful too. The immediate neighborhood has plenty to choose from in terms of restaurants and shopping as well. We'd definitely stay there again.

Quaint little hotel in a great district. Modern bathrooms, but beds were lacking in comfort (but it also looked as if they were about to change all of their mattresses). Very helpful staff: they organised many of our trips.

My wife and I had a great time at the Saint Paul le Marais. The location is exceptional, with a metro stop less than 200 yards away. Our only complaint was that one of our beds needed to be propped up with a small stack of books. Everyone at the hotel was very firendly and helpful. We will be returning soon.

I asked for a double room and got: a very small room with double bed, annex another very small room with a single bed, bath and toilet. All in all I found the room(s) shabby in relation to the room rate I paid. Next time I opt for a different hotel/room.

The hotel was a good bargain, although the rooms were a little disappointing and noisy. The breakfast room in the basement was cute. The staff was very nice and helpful, and most spoke a little English. The Marais district is fun to visit (lots of boutiques, the Place de Voges and an enjoyable Jewish section) but it's not the most family-oriented section of Paris to stay (the Louve area is much better). This hotel was a good value, however, and if you're staying on a budget it's an acceptable choice.

Very nice hotel, very nice location. Rooms a bit small, but quite normal for Europe. As for the staff, I must admit I have some mixed feelings. We had a wonderful service at reception the first two days. However, on the day of departure, we had the most rude and atrocious reception agent. She obviously did not want to get up on that Sunday, and she really made us feel responsible for that. I really must admit that the behaviour of that person was totally UNACCEPTABLE. Apart from that person, service was excellent (friendly room maids and attendant to the breakfast room). Once again, perfect location in Paris.

Hotel has a great staff and is in an excellent location (close to shops and walking distance to Notre Dame and museums). Room decor is a bit outdated, but I was told they are remodeling in the next few months (they've already done the lobby). The street outside can be noisy, and without A/C you need to keep your windows open when its hot. During the cold months, however, the noise isn't a factor (they say the remodel will include A/C in all rooms). Call and ask for a room facing the courtyard and this will cut down on street noise.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and it was situated in an excellent area of sights, shops, and cafes. We found sleeping was interrupted several times a night from heavy traffic noise, gargabe trucks, street cleaners, and the fire department directly across the street. With no A/C it was necessary to keep the window open. Good thing we still had our ear plugs from the airplane!

This hotel is functional, and in walking distance to many great Parisian cafe's and restaurants. The metra train was only a block away, and for all practical purposes Ille de Louis/Notre Dame, and the Louvre were in walking distance (with good walking shoes.) Overall we enjoyed our stay in Paris.

As far as hotels go, it was okay at best (small rooms, nothing fancy). But I was pleased with its ideal location in the heart of the Marais. I was also extremely satisfied with the online reservation service -- quick, easy and efficient.
