How lovely it was to return from my first day walking around paris to champagne and a note from the staff! The room was beautiful, the service friendly, the location divine. I walked about 25 miles in two days and didn't use public transportion until the third day - and I saw everything! Notre Dame, St. Chappelle, Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Tuelleries, Place de la Concorde, Quartier Latin, St. Germain de Pres. I didn't eat at any of the restaurants they recommended - none looked very good, but there are several within a few minutes on food I recommend: Chez Rene, Le Reminet, and Cotes de Mer (sp?).

This hotel was quite nice. We stayed in Paris for 12 days, taking daily walks of various neighborhoods from here. It's location makes it great for exploring the surrounding arrondissements which are some of the most interesting in Paris. It is within walking distance of Notre Dame, Musee Louvre, Musee d' Orsay, and various other notable interesting sites. It is just a block away from the Seine, which is a great place to stroll. It is quiet, the rooms are reasonably-sized by French standards and in nice condition. The basic service was quite good, rooms were cleaned every day promptly with fresh towels and linens. Staff was friendly and helpful. All spoke English reasonably well. Breakfast in the morning was great, a buffet-style setup with good variety and quality. About the only thing I might wish for was a greater abundance of ice - an American thing. No where (at the hotel or any other establishment) was I able to get a full glass of ice in a drink. This is a good place to stay and I have no hesitation recommending it.

I really appreciated the input of others when reserving this room at the Melia Colbert, and I can tell you that it was right on the money! This was a very pleasent stay in Paris, and I have stayed in others as expensive with much smaller rooms and poor amenities. The staff at the hotel was very pleasent and all in all, I cannot think of a negative thing to say. We will definately be returning. Jim Todd

Front Desk personnel arranged window table reservation at L'Tour d'Argent restaurant. Very helpful in providing directions to Chartres. The only negatives were overpriced breakfasts and the room number provided was not the one we had requested five weeks earlier.

We were very very happy with the Hotel Colbert. We had requested and had a room with a small view of the Notre Dame. Very close to everything. The hotel staff was very nice and friendly. We did have one problem with the hot water and not having any but they seemed to be changing over a hot water heater and it was not quite working properly. It happened for two days out of our three and the water was just slightly warm and we managed. They gave me a slight discount (took care of breakfasts as they were not included). I would certainly recommend the hotel and would stay there again. According to the hotel, we received a good rate through the french hotel reservation center. Also, the French hotel reservation center worked the best of all we found and was extremely professional and easy. Thanks.

The hotel had just been remodeled when we arrived. They did a beautiful job! The rooms were lovely and most comfortable. The bathroom was very nicely done. The staff was most helpful in advising us of restaurants and activities. The landscaping gave a very nice effect. It rained just most days were were there. We decided that Paris on a rainy day is still fabulous!

We love this hotel. They were just upgraded from 3 to 4 stars, but the price is still a 3 star price. The location is so close to Notre Dame that you feel like you're right there. The whole hotel has been recently renovated and the rooms are great.

This is now the 5th time that i have stayed at le Colbert...the location is fantastic, left bank, close to the seine, latin quarter, and St. germain de pres, plus the isles st louis and de la cite (best ice cream in Paris at Berthilion). The hotel has recently gone from 3 stars to 4 and it shows.I've stayed at le Crillon, Bristol, and Costes, but i always come back to Le Colbert when i want left bank atomosphere!!!

My sister and I stayed there for 4 days. We loved the location! The room was very tiny and the twin beds were pushed together(Is that how they do it in Europe?!)which we really didn't like. Breakfast was very expensive for what you got... but it's hard to find breakfast in the restaurants near by. Despite those things... the decor of the hotel is adorable, the staff was very helpful and the location was awesome! If I was going back to Paris with my husband, I would definitely stay there again!

My husband and I were lucky to be booked into the Melia Colbert Hotel. We were visiting Paris during the time of the airshow so many hotels did not have space available. The Melia Colbert was not our first choice but it was absolutely wonderful. The location was perfect (just steps away from the Notre Dame Cathedral) and the staff, service and rooms were great. We would definitely recommend staying at the Melia Colbert and we also want to give a hearty recommendation for the great restaurant just across the street: Les Bouchon.

Our stay at the Melia Colbert was wonderful. The staff was helpful and friendly. They were accomodating when we made special requests. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. We were greeted with a lovely fruit basket in our room. The breakfast that was offered by the hotel was also very good. I would/will recommend this hotel to my friends and would definitely stay here again.

The Melia Colbert is situated in an ideal locale on the Left Bank for both sightseeing (Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Orsay Musee, etc.) and rich, local color (Latin Quarter, St. Germain). The staff was extremely gracious, genuine and helpful, and the rooms and appointments are clean and very comfortable. Keep in mind that the hotel is located in Tourist Central in Paris. You may want to avoid a summer visit if you don't care for long lines, waits, etc.

We absolutely loved the Melia Colbert. You can breathe in the mystique of Notre Dame from your bedroom window with peeks of its towers and spire. There are several wonderful restaurants (both French and Italian) within walking distance of our door and a very cute shop across the street for sending home authentic French Provencal fabric linens made in Avignon. Pierre, the hotel's head host is gracious and accomodating. The desk staff is easy to talk with in English, or my spotty French! The rooms are quite romantic and comfortable. If you need something you do not have, ask for it and it is presented immediately. Taxis are easy to get by asking the desk staff to call one for you - but we preferred walking a couple of blocks to St. Germain and hailing our own, just for fun. The Louvre and Musee d'Orsay are within minutes by taxi or within a mile for walking. At the Melia Colbert, breakfast is elegant, the window boxes are immaculately kept and you can open your bedroom window to the breath and splendor of a comfortably antique architectural skyline. I walked the two blocks to Notre Dame at six in the morning one Sunday and allowed the early spring light to wash over me in silence. Truly a time of awe and appreciation. Then I walked two blocks to an all night cafe and was served hot cafe au lait as the sun continued to rise to the east. You are welcome to write to me if you have questions.

Just great. In a super location, good access to subways. Nice to be near a large landmark like Notre Dame. Good restaurants in area. Very friendly people maybe because it is near the universities.....loved it.

"double" means two twin beds pushed together at this hotel, and the a/c was not working well when we were there. otherwise, the hotel was beautiful, the location was ideal, and the service was terrific. despite the bed configuration and problems with a/c, we will probably return.

Although a little more than I usually spend, this was a very nice hotel. One of the nicest aspects was its close proximity to Francouis Clerc's nearby restaurant(just accross the street.

Due to fortunate circumstances, my booking received a generous discount. For my situation, an excellent value rating is deserved. Location particularly good for those who take RER from CDG (St. Michael Notre Dame). I had several experiences that were not four star quality. Negative was at 2AM, I was locked out of the hotel for 20 minutes before the door man arrived, very disconcerting. If I'm able to book again at a value rate, I will look forward to returning.

Our stay at L'Hotel Colbert was a wonderful experience! The room was immaculate and tastefully decorated and the staff was very helpful (and spoke English). The representatives at the French Hotel Reservation Center went above and beyond to help us with our reservation. Our experience could not have been better!

We had a great stay at the Colbert. Location is outstanding: 50 yds to the Seine, facing Notre Dame. Our room #31 had a view of the back of the cathedral. Street is quiet, except for morning garbage trucks. With windows closed it is silent, with windows open there is some traffic noise but not bad. Size- small but efficiently done with 2 closets and a writing desk. Safe, tv with CNN, minibar. Decor: lovely, high ceilings, crown moldings, lots of mirrors, blue/white decor, tole patterned floor length drapes, gold framed prints, good lighting. A pillow menu so you can select from 8 different pillows! 2 full length mirrors. Bathroom: rust colored marble, luxurious, oversize towels, make-up mirror, hairdryer, robes!, phone in bathroom! Reception very helpful expecially Maria who made our nightly dinner reservations. Breakfast is expensive but well worth it, it's a huge spread of wonderful food. This is a find, albeit pretty expensive considering there's lots of wonderful less expensive hotels. However, the location is unbeatable and we would highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful time in Paris. I would love to go back. The Melia Colbert was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip through Europe. The service was superb, the staff extremely helpful and friendly and the location was great. We could see Notre Dame from our hotel suite's sitting room. If I return to Paris, I will use your service again to book a hotel.

I have not enjoyed a hotel stay like the one I enjoyed at the Melia Colbert in a very long time (it was on par with the Huntington in San Francisco). I travel through Europe extensively for business and the Melia Colbert was first rate in all respects. The staff is wonderful and goes out of its way to be accomodating. The location in the Latin Quarter places you a stone's toss from Notre Dame. The hotel is also effectively on a side street, so you do not need to deal with much street noise. The hotel decor and the room's furnishings (moldings; drapes; bedspead) are amongst some of the finest and tasteful I have ever seen in a hotel room. As for the notion that the French people are not accomodating ... don't believe it ... they were great. We will definitely be back.

Melia Colbert is in great location - can see the spires of Notre Dame from most rooms and can walk to all. Although rooms and baths are small compared to American Hotels - the rooms are totally renovated - they are decorated pretty and very clean. Staff is very nice and helpful. Would stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located on a quiet street right neat Notre Dame and was an easy walk to anywhere. The breakfast (not included) was wonderful. All the staff were helpful and the accommodations are superb. Thanks for making our vacation that much better.

Very expensive for the size of rooms but decor was good. Bell service was very poor ie non-existent eg no-one helped us up with two suitcases, two bags, a baby stroller and a baby. But maid service was very good. Excellent location near to Notre Dame. Breakfast was good value.

Our experience at the Colbert in Paris was wonderful. The hotel was extremely comfortable and spotless. And, best of all, it was in a great location! The staff was very pleasant and helpful. And I must add that the French Onion Soup was the best I've ever had! A very nice stay indeed!

The hotel Colbert was a great place to stay in Paris. It was our first visit to Paris and we normally look around to find the perfect place for future visits but we didn't even bother this time as the Colbert will certainly be our first choice again in the future. Nice hotel in a great location by Notre Dame. We walked to everything, museums, restaurants, the Seine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was substantial. All around a winner. Your reservation system also worked perfectly... thanks again!

Room was good sized for Paris. Furniture was somewhat shoddy given the price of the room. Also was not given a room with view despite requesting one.

Our stay was ever bit what we hoped. The staff where friendly and helpful. Your service was very good and saved us a substantial amount. I have one complaint. When we left the hotel for our flight home, I left a carry tub for posters and it held several ones I really wanted. I know I left it at the lift when bringing my luggage down, but when I called and asked them to send it to me I got one response they found it but in the end they claimed not to have found it and it is lost to me for ever. So be very careful, not all people are as honest as we would like.

Lovely room. Good toilet and bath. Room 19 has great windows and the redecoration is very nice. Please give our special thanks to the blonde man who works at the front desk (he was there almost every day and appeared to be part of management). He was very helpful and always pleasent. Overall, a very nice stay and a great vacation.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location is excellent and the hotel is very stately looking from the outside. The rooms and the common areas were a little dated looking and are decorated with unbecoming Louis XV type furniture. In many of the hallways the paint was peeling and the rugs were threadbare. Fortunately, while we were there, the hotel started redecorating and this should make it much nicer. We will definitely go back to this hotel.

Le Colbert was in the perfect spot, quiet, clean and the staff were all wonderful. Our only problem was the loss of $100 in US cash taken from our personal belongings. It was in the bottom of a suitcase, which was not unpacked, so somebody had to really dig for it. There are safes in the rooms, we suggest guests use them. What a shame to have to worry about such things.

Rooms were relatively spacious. Nice high ceilings. We're late risers and staff graciously worked around our odd hours. Front desk personnel very helpfull. Cost is a bit pricey (especially breakfast at $30) but cleanliness, privacy and staff assistance will make us come back.
