Our stay at the Hotel du Palais Bourbon went just fine. We had a triple room which was indeed large (esp. by Parisian standards). The hotel is still redecorating the rooms. Ours was nearly complete. The bathroom, while small, had been completely refurbished and was very nice and modern. Lovely bathtub to soak in too. They haven't changed out the scruffy stair carpet yet! We chose to eat breakfast in the dining room (and enjoyed meeting our fellow guests) -- pretty linens on the tables each day, fresh flowers on the tables. The location was very good. The Rodin museum was a stone's throw away, also Napoleon's tomb at Les Invalides. The Eiffel Tower was a reasonable hike away. The convenience store a couple of doors down was very handy. Great (and cheap) wine selection. Cheap cheap Camembert cheese. Three or four restaurants practically next door; a great toy shop across the road. By the way, we recommend the yellow-green opentop tour bus instead of the red one --more stops, esp. one fairly close to the hotel. We loved having the Varenne metro station SO close (esp. when lugging heavy suitcases). (Varenne is only three stops from Paris-Montparnasse station where we were catching our train to Spain.) We stayed there again on our way back from Spain. Got room 21 up on the 4th floor this time. It had airconditioning. By the way, there IS an elevator. Hotel staff were very helpful in helping locate and retrieve one of our suitcases which Icelandair had left behind in Reykjavik. We would be happy to stay at the Palais Bourbon again.

Although this was my third visit to the Hotel, the last being thirty six years ago, I was perturbed with lack of air conditioning until I asked foir it, even though it had been in the eighty degrees F the day before, plus there was a charge for orange juice which was not brought to table or was asked whether I wanted. I complained and did get juice the remaining days. Night clerks were not very helpful. Room was made up without a bath mat or wash cloth on second day of stay and only was corrected when I spoke to clerk about it.

We had a room just large enough for 2 adults & 2 kids, at an affordable price. Not a place where you'd want to spend a lot of time in the room, but perfect for folks like us who spent the days sightseeing and needed a place to sleep. It was clean & friendly and close to a Metro stop, where you can see the Eiffel Tower.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Palais du Bourbon. My room was clean and comfortable, decor quaint, and there was television in French and English. In the morning, there was also a marvelous breakfast of croissaint, butter and jam, and hot coffee with milk. It was an excellent way to start a busy day of touring! The Concierge was very helpful. He pointed out places of interest and even helped me with my French! The location was wonderful. The 7th is a beautiful district, within walking distance of the Musee d'Orsay and Musee Rodin. Metro stop 1 block away. I would definitely stay there again!

The Palais Bourbon is a two-star hotel. The location is relatively central, being in the 7th, but seemed to still be a hike to most attractions other than the Rodin et les Invalides. The room, although not decorated particularly well, was adequately large for our family of four. This is uncommon in Paris (for a reasonable price) and was the reason I booked this hotel. The room was actually a suite: the main room contained a queen size bed, roll-away, and a bathroom. There was also an adjunct room, with its own full bath and locking door. This was perfect for our teenager. The staff was friendly although not too much so. The breakfast was adequate.

The Palais Bourbon has the feel of home away from home on a quiet street. Great location away from the crowds, but still close enough. Enjoyed walking just a few steps away each morning to the fresh fruit & vegetable store. I would definitely stay there again.
